Where should I start?
Good question. If you are entirely new to yoga, not in good shape, have an injury or special condition, and/or don’t enjoy being confused, then you might start with our Foundations classes. In these small classes you’ll receive assistance as we move slowly through the foundational postures and ideas central to postural yoga. You can learn modifications specific to your needs, which you can then employ in any class.
If you have practiced some, are in decent shape, and you can laugh at yourself, then feel free to jump in anywhere. Classes called Flow and Hot Hatha are moderately-paced and a good choice for many.
If you are an early bird, or if you like learning a set series that you can progress in, then the Mysore program might be for you. In a Mysore-style class, students move through the Ashtanga Primary Series at their own pace, under the close supervision of a teacher.
If you just want to relax, and aren’t interested in exerting yourself, then you’re going to enjoy our Restorative, Gentle, Stretch & Reset, and Meditation classes.
What should I bring?
You’ll probably want a yoga mat, a towel or two, and a water. We also rent and sell all of these things. Any old mat is fine, but we don’t recommend your squishy Pilates mat, as they tend to stretch and slide around.
What should I wear?
Dress for comfort. Stretchy clothes are good. Don’t worry about it.
Do I have to register in advance for class?
You should. Many classes fill up in advance, and preregistering for classes holds your spot. You can self-cancel without penalty up until two hours before class time. If you no-show or late cancel you will be charged. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the listed class time if possible. Walk-ins will be accommodated as best we can. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late to a full class your spot may be forfeited to another student.
What does it cost?
All of our pricing information can be found on our Prices page. More specific details about Annual and Monthly Membership are at Membership. No, your first class isn’t free. But if you hate it, we’ll refund you 😉
