change is the only constant in life

The BE's been buzzing these past few months. The completion of our expansion tripled the studio's size, allowing us to add more classes. We've changed the orientation of the rooms, and the check-in procedure. We scored a few excellent new instructors, and we've finally staffed the front desk, evenings and weekends. All of these changes, plus January resolutions, have brought in a lot of new faces. Welcome, everybody! Change can be uncomfortable, but we're rollin' with it.

What hasn't changed is our committment to quality instruction, good vibes, and community-building. Our schedule is twice as full as it used to be, but our prices haven't changed. You now have nearly 50 classes a week to choose from. And our workshops and special events run the gamut: whether you're looking to nail handstand, study the Sutras, pratice naked, flow to live music, heal from trauma, change a bad habit, downdog with cats, or get out on the water, The BE has something to offer.

We can't thank you guys enough for creating this awesome community. When we have a safe and supportive space for practice, we can challenge ourselves, study ourselves, and love ourselves, and ultimately become more fully-realized and happy human beings. You're contributing to nothing less than making our world a better place. So bring it on, 2017!

Presenting....the January Schedule

Click to biggen

We've added The Yogi Gnomes to our family of teachers. They are Acroyoga junkies, Rocketeers, cat-whisperers, arm-balance lovers, and yoga wheel spokespersons. We've got Zach Mills on Power Hour Friday mornings, and his partner Alix Emery leading Wednesday afternoon Rocket. Danielle Collinsworth has offically come aboard, teaching Monday's noon Flow Down, and Prenatal Tuesday nights. Dr. Lance Robbins has joined us with an awesome new class we're calling Foam Rolling, Mobility, and Movement. That session is Tuesday afternoons. Lance provides foam rollers and lacrosse balls, and you can pick some up to take home here at The BE, too. We've also put on a new Thursday noon Rocket with Jess Needham, and we've added evening Ashtanga on Mondays, a Half-Primary taught by Lindsay Cross. More new faces include super subs and front desk staff Sharon Ditata (Coach D) and Jennifer Rose. Oh yes, and last but not least, Tiffany Cantrell and Jenny Miller are rotating a new Yin (Deep Stretch) class on Monday afternoons. Whew!

Look! Up in the sky! It's Danielle as a pigeon.

Introducing The BE Book Club

Date: March 7, and every First Tuesday
Time: 4:30pm-5:45pm
Cost: Free

Join us for our inaugural book club discussion! Our first selection is The Great Work of Your Life, by Stephen Cope. The discussion will be facilitated by BE Book Club leaders Alsace Walentine and Tiffany Cantrell.

Kripalu founder, author, and yoga instructor Stephen Cope believes that the secret to discovering your calling can be found in the ancient text, the Bhagavad Gita. To bring this allegory to life for contemporary readers, Cope highlights Western lives that embody the Bhagavad Gita’s central principles including Jane Goodall, Susan B. Anthony, Walt Whitman ("I Sing the Body Electric!"), Harriet Tubman and others.

Space is limited and registration is required. More information/register.

We want musicians! Do you know local live music? If you have an artist in mind who might be perfect for a Yoga On Tap, send them our way.

Etc.

The City of St. Petersburg has provided us with bike racks. Please use them! And when you do, be sure to let the desk staff know. Walking or riding your bicycle to class earns you extra points through our Perkville.com rewards program.

Teacher Training with Jade Skinner starts in February. If you are interested, get on it asap.

We've added Min's Matcha Tea to the cooler, and Power Muffins by Natural Food Performance. Along with longtime favorite Mother Kombucha, we're keeping it local!

In case you missed it, we now have regular store hours. Come see us Mondays 5-8, Tuesday-Thursday 4-8, and Friday-Sunday 8-8. Woohoo! <3 BE
