Arthritic Yoga Newbie…Let’s connect about beer, yoga AND foot health!

Hi Jenny and Katelyn,

stagI’m a big beer drinker and lover too! You haven’t lived until you’ve had a beastly cold Stag on Maracas Beach in Trinidad (where I live). I’m not writing to trade beer stories, but I do have quite a few to tell…LOL. Maracas Beach is pretty ideal for yoga too. If only I were as enthusiastic about yoga. I’m a newbie yoga enthusiast (maybe even begrudgingly so) b/c my high school yoga instructor totally ruined it for me with his very militant (and, anti-zen) approach. Now, as an adult (28), I think yoga is a great way for me to find my peace of mind while balancing a very hectic work-life schedule so I’m just getting back into it.

I, however, have arthritis so I have to be especially cognizant of how I care for my legs and feet. And, it occurred to me as I was reading your blog this morning that I can’t be the only person interested in yoga who has to monitor her foot health. So, I wanted to let you know about two online resources I’ve been using for that info so you can take a look and share them with your other readers and  followers. They are called The Sterishoe Blog (blog.sterishoe.com) and The Healing Feet Blog (www.healingfeet.com/blog) and have both just been amazing resources for me over the last few weeks.

I hope you find my suggestions helpful. I’m doing lots of reading up on health and fitness in my attempt to get back into yoga and would love to continue to share resources I find along the way with you. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best,

Michele 🙂
